Rajeev Parlikar - Ward 1
Rajeev Parlikar was elected to the School Committee from Ward 1 in 2021. Rajeev and his wife Urmila have a son at Newton North who previously attended NECP, Franklin Elementary, and Day Middle School. Rajeev served as Co-Chair of Newton SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Council) for five years, supporting Newton's special education families and advising both the School Committee and NPS administration on special education issues. He has been a parent representative on hiring committees for senior NPS administrators and was a member of the High School Working Group that developed the successful plan to return high schools to in-person learning in January 2021. Rajeev has built a career as an executive and consultant over the past twenty-five years. He has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Industrial & Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
