    FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:

Needs-Based Scholarship Instruments and Fee Waivers are available by application to qualifying families. Applications require supporting documentation as specified on the application form. Families that have already been awarded a waiver for the 2016-17 school year for School Lunch, Transportation, Elementary Early Morning Program, and Middle School/High School Activities should indicate so on the application form and do not need to reapply for a waiver. Financial Assistance Waivers DO NOT APPLY to the private music lessons offered in the Music Lesson Extension Program (MLEP).

It is the intention of the Newton Public Schools that no student is denied participation in school-sponsored activities and bus transportation due to inability to pay. Waivers are based on income and family size as well as special circumstances or temporary hardships.
