Transportation News

  • Bus registration for the 2022-23 school year is NOW OPEN. You MUST register by August 8, 2022 to secure your student’s seat on the bus.

Please visit the Bus Registration webpage for complete details on registering for the bus. A few helpful hints for bus registration:

    1. Review your student's bus route. You can find the stops and schedules on this page: Bus Stops and Routes.

    2. Determine the distance from your residence to your assigned school. This will help you determine if you pay a bus fee or not. Please visit the City of Newton site to Find Your Distance.

    3. Bus fees can be found on this page: 2022-23 NPS Bus Fees

We STRONGLY encourage you to register your student before the end of this school year. We know summers can be busy times for families and we want to make sure we account for all students as we plan our bus capacity and routes.

  • The NPS transportation system is complex as there are local, state, and federal regulations with which we must comply.
The Newton Public Schools transportation department is committed to ensuring students are transported safely to and from school. Students in the Newton Public Schools typically arrive at school in one of three ways – walk, bike, or bus. In addition, some families choose to drive students to school.
