    The Angier School is a caring community of children, teachers, parents, and administrators working together to ensure all our students acquire the knowledge and skills essential to achieving their full potential. The Angier staff encourages and supports intellectual, social, and emotional development for our community of diverse learners by teaching a rich and vigorous Newton curriculum.

    The Newton Public Schools system has a formalized Standards-Based Grade Level Curriculum consisting of units and benchmarks for grades K through 5. By setting high expectations, children are encouraged to learn, explore, experiment, question, challenge, enjoy, and reach their highest potential.

    Angier’s faculty and staff enthusiastically dedicate themselves to the education of all children regardless of learning style, skill set, needs, challenges, or strengths. Our goal is to nurture confident, inquisitive children who will be life-long learners who care about their surrounding environment and the people beyond the walls of Angier.

    In order to support and honor our vision, the Angier School is beginning the process of becoming a Professional Learning Community. In the quest for continuous improvement where the focus is on student learning for all, the Angier staff has made a commitment to “learn by doing” and establishing PLCs. PLCs consist of grade-level teams working interdependently to achieve common goals connected to the purpose of learning for all students. By creating a master schedule that assures one hour of grade-level collaboration each week, this systemic process will impact teachers’ classroom practice, which will lead to improved results for all students. By engaging in a dialogue, and with the clarity of our school mission, vision, values, and goals, we can answer the collective question, “Why do we (schools) exist?”

    Together we can establish the process for continuous improvement where the focus is on student learning.
