Summer Program for Academic & Creative Encounters

  • S.P.A.C.E. Camp is a four-week summer enrichment program run by the Newton Public Schools. Students entering kindergarten through 9th grade are eligible to attend. We offer two programs - an upper school (entering grade 5-entering grade 9) and a lower school (entering kindergarten-entering grade four).

Camp Structure

  • S.P.A.C.E. - Lower School
    A four-week summer enrichment program for students entering kindergarten through 4th grade in the fall. Students in the program are assigned to age appropriate groups. They work with staff members in art, music, science, movement, games, recreation, drama, foreign language, and other enrichment activities. Low student to teacher ratios allow for individualized attention in the camp setting.
    S.P.A.C.E. - Upper School
    A four-week summer enrichment program for students entering grade five (5) through students entering grade nine (9) in the fall. During this program, students are given the opportunity to become involved in program courses of their own choosing. In this brochure, you will find the offerings for this year, which include Visual Arts Studios, Computer Labs, Challenges, Academic Labs, Sports & Recreation and Music and the Performing Arts.
