Art- Amber Wenger
Amber, our art teacher, is from New Hampshire and graduated from the University of New Hampshire. She has over 30 years of teaching experience throughout grades K through 12 and earned her Masters degree from Lesley University in 2003. Amber is married to a high school math teacher and they have two sons. Her younger son is attending Mass Art in Boston and is hoping to become a high school art teacher. She has been at Bowen since 1998, and loves watching students create their own unique artwork!
Music- Alisa Granada
Alisa was born in Illinois where she spent her early school years before moving to Seattle, Washington with her family. In the Fall of 2010, Alisa moved to Bedford, Massachusetts with her family. She went on to receive her Bachelors in Music Education at Boston University. Alisa's primary instrument is the oboe. She has enjoyed playing in various orchestras and wind ensembles in and outside of school, along with giving private oboe lessons. Alisa is most passionate about bringing music into children's lives, whether it be through singing, dancing, or listening, and helping them learn to love music as much as she does. In her spare time Alisa enjoys playing the ukulele, singing, spending time with her family, and traveling! She is thrilled to be at Bowen and to be a part of her students' musical lives each and every day!
Library- Maureen Riordan
Maureen was born and raised in Norwood, Massachusetts. She graduated from Providence College with a B.A. in History and received a Masters in Library Science from Simmons College in 2017. Like most librarians, Maureen's favorite pastime is reading. Her other hobbies include traveling, baking and spending time with her family. She is passionate about making the library a welcoming and inclusive space for all and instilling a love of reading and learning in her students.
Instructional Technology Specialist -Lauren Dietz
Monday afternoons and FridaysLauren is the Instructional Technology Specialist who joined the Bowen staff in 2004. Before moving into this role she was a classroom teacher at the K-2 level for 9 years. Lauren uses her experiences from the classroom to collaborate with classroom teachers to successfully integrate meaningful technology lessons into the curriculum. She earned her BA in Early Childhood Education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and her MA in Special Education from Hofstra University. Lauren believes that together, teachers and ITS can join together to create innovative, standards based technology projects that provide students with opportunities to communicate, collaborate and create; bringing learning and understanding to higher levels. In her free time Lauren enjoys spending time skiing, swimming, reading and traveling with her husband and two sons.
