Bus Fee Information

All students (NPS and private school students) who ride the bus MUST have a bus pass, regardless of whether they pay the fee.

The bus fee for the 2024-25 school year is $400 per student (family cap of $800.)

Who pays the bus fee?

  • K-5th grade students – All elementary students who reside LESS than 2 miles from their elementary school and wish to ride the bus must pay a bus fee. Students who reside MORE than 2 miles from their elementary school and wish to ride the bus DO NOT pay the fee.
  • 6th grade students – if you reside LESS than 2 miles from the school and wish to ride the bus, you pay the fee. If you reside MORE than 2 miles from the school and wish to ride the bus, you do NOT pay the fee.
  • 7th – 12th grade students – all students in grades 7-12 pay the fee to ride the bus.

Reminder: all students must have a bus pass to ride the bus. When you register, you will be prompted to pay the fee, or select the installment payment plan, if you are required to pay the fee. Payment will NOT be requested if you are not required to pay based on your distance or financial aid status.

There is a family cap of $800. This means that every family, no matter how many students, pays no more than $800 each year to utilize bus transportation.

Families may apply for a fee waiver based on financial hardship so that no student is denied bus transportation. For information on how to apply, please visit this Financial Assistance webpage. The financial assistance application form is found in our student information system, Aspen.
