Neftalie Torres was born in Denver, Colorado, but feels fortunate to have grown up in the warm coastal city of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. After attending Cranbrook Kingswood boarding school in Michigan, he moved to Boston where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design (2010) from Wentworth Institute of Technology. It wasn't until after being accepted into a Masters of Architecture program that he found himself more interested in youth outreach work than the “headaches of design.” He graduated from Northeastern University in the summer of 2016 with a masters degree in Elementary Education and Special Education, having completed all his student teaching at Bowen in 4th grade and then 2nd grade before beginning to teach 5th grade at Bowen. In his free time you can find Neftalie playing a seasonal sport, swimming with his New England Masters Swim Team, working out at his Crossfit box, or eating tapas at Toro in the South End. Otherwise, much of Neftalie's free time is spent with his partner pampering their two pugs (Tucker and Mia) and shepherd/doberman rescue (Travieso).

Upon returning from Korea, Mr. Chapin completed his Masters degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in curriculum from Saint Michael's College. Today, Mr. Chapin and HyoJin live in Watertown and enjoy exploring Boston while trying all kinds of international foods! Mr. Chapin is also a big Boston sports fan!
