Arab American Heritage Month
Beginning in the 1990s, Arab American heritage was celebrated sporadically in various states at different times of the year, primarily in school districts. It wasn't until 2017 when Arab America began a national initiative to coordinate all states under National Arab American Heritage Month. On April 30, 2019, Arab American organizations asked Congresswoman Debbie Dingell to issue a congressional resolution proclaiming National Arab American Heritage Month.

Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month Resources
The month of May is established as Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month and we at NPS invite all educators, students and community members to learn more and to celebrate the voices and contributions of AAPI as a part of our collective American history.

Black History Month Resources
We in NPS recognize that Black history is a part of our collective American history and should be embedded in our curriculum and practice throughout the year. It is within the study of this history that we become better equipped to wrestle with the challenges and opportunities around contemporary discussions of racism.

EmbraceRace identifies, organizes and creates the tools, resources, discussion spaces, and networks we need to meet 4 goals:
- Nurture resilience in children of color
- Nurture inclusive, empathetic children of all stripes
- Raise kids who think critically about racial inequity
- Support a movement of kid and adult racial justice advocates for all children

Hispanic Heritage Month Resources
Hispanic Heritage Month is an annual celebration of the history and culture of the US Latinx and Hispanic communities. The event, which spans from September 15 to October 15, commemorates how those communities have influenced and contributed to American society at large.

Inclusive Schools Week
Inclusive Schools Week celebrates the progress that schools have made in providing a supportive and quality education to an increasingly diverse student population, including students who are marginalized due to disability, gender, socio-economic status, cultural heritage, language preference, and other factors. The Week also provides an important opportunity for educators, students and parents to discuss what else needs to be done in order to ensure that their schools continue to improve their ability to successfully educate all children.
This year’s theme is “Unity in the Community".
