  • Financial Assistance

    Financial assistance is available to all students who qualify through the Jennifer Price Global Education Leadership Fund (GELF). To apply, simply complete the Financial Aid Supplement at the back of the trip application.  Questions about financial aid can be directed to Newton's Global Programs Manager Samantha Mandel at mandels@newton.k12.ma.us.

  • Information Session

    The information session for interested Newton South students will be held on Monday, Sept. 24 during J-block in Room 6212 at NSHS.

    The information session date for interested Newton North students will be held on Wednesday, September 26 from 3:00-3:30pm (immediately after school) in Room 254 at NNHS.

    The information session for all interested students and parents will be held on Monday, October 1st at 7pm at Newton South in Room 6212.

    Exploratory travel program focusing on the significance of Latin through history. Students explore cultural sites relevant to the art, architecture, history, and literature of the ancient, Mediaeval, Renaissance, and Baroque worlds. Students choose topics or special interests to research while abroad, and prepare for their trip during x-block/J-block seminars. The program includes visits to major sites (the Pantheon, the Forum, St. Clement's Basilica, etc) and first-rate museums (the Capitoline Museums, the National Museum of Rome, etc.) paired with relevant on-site readings and lectures. This program includes trips to the surrounding areas and a final research project.

  • Eligibility

    Any current Newton North or South student enrolled in Latin may apply. Preference will be given to juniors and seniors. Students must have a clean disciplinary record and an enthusiasm for Latin language and/or history.
