    Completed applications must be received by Friday, October 11, 2019. Please email us when you are ready to apply at: NNHSFrenchExchange@newton.k12.ma.us so we can add you to our Schoology course. 

    To apply, please first read this informational cover letter.

    Then, you must complete an application at https://tinyurl.com/NNHSFrenchExchange2020 which includes:

    1. Personal statement

    2. Student questionnaire

    3. Family questionnaire

    4. Recommendations from:

      • World Language teacher

      • Other classroom teachers

      • Guidance Counselor

      • Dean

    All references will be kept confidential. 

     

    To Complete a Financial Aid Application:

    Part I:  Please carefully read the GELF Financial Aid Supplement Explanatory Cover Letter for the GELF Financial Aid Supplement.

     

    Part II:  A parent or guardian should complete the online financial aid application by October 11.

     

    Part III: All parent/guardians (including non-custodial parents) of a financial aid applicantshould make a copy of their most recent 1040 tax returns and turn them in to Samantha Mandel's mailbox at the main office of their child's school.  The copies should be turned in by the deadline for the trip application.

    Language & culture-focused homestay. Newton studens live with host families in France and attend classes at the Ecole Massillon, a historic French school. Students also participate in cultural excursions led by Newton French teachers, and after their return, they host their French peers in Newton for two weeks.

  • Eligibility

    Students must be enrolled in French at Newton North and be in good academic standing, among other criteria. Sophomores, juniors and seniors are eligible to apply.

  • Cost & Financial Aid

    The estimated cost of this program is $2,500-$2,700. Financial aid is available to all students who qualify through the Jennifer Price Global Education Leadership Fund (GELF). The French Exchange application includes a Financial Aid Supplement, and questions about GELF financial aid can be directed to Global Programs Manager Samantha Mandel at mandels@newton.k12.ma.us.
