PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
FY25 BUDGET - Newton Public Schools - Monday, April 1, 2024 - 6:00 p.m.
The Newton School Committee will hold a hybrid Public Hearing at the Education Center, 100 Walnut St., room 210, and via Zoom (copy and paste https://zoom.us/j/390017072) on April 1, 2024 at 6:00 pm.
Notice will be published Monday, March 18, 2024 and Monday, March 25, 2024 in the Boston Herald.
Instructions for the public to listen to, or participate, in the public hearing are as follows:
Join the Zoom Meeting by Phone or Computer. When you join, you will be automatically muted with video off upon entering the meeting.

If you would like to speak at the public hearing, there are three ways to do so:
- Attend in-person and sign up to speak on the sign-in sheet
- Sign up in advance of the hearing using this Google Form (copy and paste this link: https://forms.gle/
AAPYkXAHJ6g6BzW68) - Sign up during the meeting by using the “raise your hand” feature on Zoom.
The Chair will recognize speakers randomly from the in-person sign up list, the remote sign up, and those who "raise their hand" during the meeting. Speakers will have 2 minutes each.
If you only wish to listen, you may do so via NewTV’s YouTube Channel or visit the NewTV website for how to watch on your cable public access channel.
The School Committee will convene a HYBRID Regular Meeting in open session immediately following the Public Hearing.
GENERAL MEETING INFORMATION
The School Committee holds hybrid public meetings. Members of the public may attend in person or virtually.
All meetings are held in the Frazier Room (#210) in the Education Center at 100 Walnut Street, unless otherwise noted in the School Committee Calendar.
Meetings and agendas are posted on the City's Electronic Posting Board or the School Committee Calendar.

Should you require handicap accessibility, please enter through the doors on the Walnut St. side of the building and proceed across the hallway to the elevator. Take the elevator to the 2nd floor and turn right.
Agendas will be posted once confirmed. Related documents are posted as soon as possible but no later than the day of the meeting. To review agenda and related documents of meetings use the Meeting Materials dropdown on the left and click on the meeting date.
Public Comment

Public Comment: you may offer public comment either in person or virtually during the public comment portion of the meeting. To participate, please do the following:
- In-person: you may attend the meeting in-person and sign in for public comment on the sign up sheet. Per School Committee policy, you will have 3 minutes in which to offer your comments.
- Virtually: if you wish to offer public comment virtually, please submit your NAME and ADDRESS by email with the subject line: "Public Comment for [DATE]" to schoolcommittee@newton.k12.ma.us at least 30 minutes PRIOR to the official start time of the meeting. Join the virtual meeting by computer or phone via the link or phone number above. When the School Committee chairperson calls your name, you will be permitted to unmute your microphone and turn on your video. You will have 3 minutes to deliver your comments.
