• Specialized Early Action Programs

    Some colleges and universities place certain limitations and restrictions if you choose to apply early. Like typical, early action deadlines, these plans offer early notification of admissions decisions and are not binding. On the Common Application, these plans are referred to as SCEA or Single Choice Early Action and REA or Restrictive Early Action. Be aware that this list may change annually as institutions modify their admissions’ strategies. 

    Georgetown University - Early Action Program 
    • you may apply to other EA schools
    • you may NOT apply to ED or ED II schools
     

    Harvard College - Restrictive Early Action Program

    • you may only apply to EA programs at public colleges/universities or international colleges/universities
    • you may NOT apply EA to any private colleges/universities
    • you may NOT apply to ED schools
    • you may apply to ED II schools
    Princeton University - Single Choice Early Action
    • you may only apply to EA programs at public colleges/universities or international colleges/universities
    • you may apply to any college/university which offers rolling admissions
    • you may NOT apply ED to any college/university
    • you may apply to ED II schools

    Stanford University - Restrictive Early Action

    • you may only apply to EA programs at public colleges/universities or international colleges/universities
    • you may apply to any college/university which offers rolling admissions
    • you may NOT apply EA, REA, ED & ED II to any private colleges/universities

    University of Notre Dame - Restrictive Early Action

    • you may NOT apply ED to any college/university
    • you may apply EA to any college/university

    Yale University - Single Choice Early Action

    • you may apply EA to public colleges/universities
    • you may apply any time to any international colleges/universities
    • you may apply to any college/university which offers rolling admissions
    • you may NOT apply ED to any college/university
    • you may apply ED II if notification is after January 1st. If admitted, you must withdraw your application from Yale
