NPS Library Cyber Safety Guidelines

    Dont talk to strangers
Do not give out personal information, such as your full name, address, phone number, online passwords, school name, or email address. If a site requires this information, tell your teacher or parents, and they will decide what is safe to include.
Don't send or post your photo(s) without checking with your teacher or parents first. While sending your latest photograph to your grandparents is probably OK with your parents consent, posting it online where strangers might see it is definitely NOT OK.
DO NOT reply to an email or online message from someone you don't know. Also, do not join any online chat groups without your parents' permission and supervision. Let your teachers or parents know if you see or read something online that makes you feel uncomfortable, or someone you don't know wants to meet you.
When you are writing something that will appear on the internet, it is very important to be respectful of all people, and never write something that might be hurtful to someone else. Always treat others online as you would have them treat you. Never send out mean or threatening messages nor should you respond to any such messages that are sent to you. Let your parents know if ever you should get a mean message.
