    Lunches

    All children go to the cafeteria for lunch on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

    Milk and hot lunches are available. Parents may sign up for hot lunches through the Food Service Manager in the school. To find out what is for lunch please click here:

    Lost and Found

    Clothing and lunch boxes should be labeled to prevent items from being lost. Please emphasize to your children the importance of keeping track of their personal belongings. However, if something is lost, children and parents can check the lost and found in the Main Lobby.
     

    Cancellation or Delayed Opening of School

    Connect-Ed is our citywide communication system. When there is a school arrival delay or cancellation due to weather, etc., this system broadcasts a voicemail message to the telephone number of your choosing as indicated on the yellow “Student Contact Information” form distributed at the beginning of the school year. Please be sure to advise the office whenever your number(s) change.

    Parents will be notified using our reverse 911 system in the even school opening is delayed or school is cancelled. Information about delayed openings and school closings will be broadcast by 6:30 AM on the following radio and television stations:

    Gift Policy

    The Newton School Committee's policy states that no teacher in the performance of regular duties shall receive presents from the pupils under his or her direction. In addition, students are prohibited from exchanging gifts with other students during school. This has the potential to be exclusionary which is contradictory to our Core Values. Cards, notes, and pictures from students and parents are always appreciated.
