Overview
In the Newton Public Schools, technology is a critical component of a learning environment that prepares students for college and career success. Providing access to digital tools that empower students to engage in learning anytime and everywhere helps close gaps in access and achievement and cultivates communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity.
The Instructional Technology Specialists guide and support the use of all of the district’s technology resources both in and out of the classroom. Their primary role is to support teachers in the integration of technology into the teaching and learning process by providing professional learning, modeling and coaching. In addition, they assist in the research, development and evaluation of new methods and digital tools that advance our programs. They are guides, coaches, and facilitators helping teachers and administrators acquire a deep understanding of digital literacy skills.
