Scope of Work

The subcommittee will assess the potential uses of the technology in the following application areas:

* teaching in the classroom
* curriculum development
* professional development
* administration (within a school and across the district)

The committee will also coordinate our research with the Computing Models, Universal Design And Access, and Technology Integration subcommittees. These committees will focus more on current technologies that have been implemented and evaluated in classroom settings, whereas the Emerging Technology subcommittee will look at technologies at earlier stages of development or implementation.

A final report will include a description of the technologies researched by committee members, the current/potential uses of the technology in the application areas previously described, the current state of technical development and basic requirements for its implementation, a list of the information sources to discover emerging technology, and recommendations for tracking and implementing future technologies into the school system.
