Expectations:

After four years at Newton South, a student is expected to:

1. Develop empathy and respect for human differences while recognizing common elements of the human experience.
2. Develop self-confidence through active participation in learning.
3. Work collaboratively, considerately, and effectively with others.
4. Understand and exercise rights and responsibilities within the school community.
5. Communicate in clear and appropriate language, orally and in writing.
6. Master the literacy skills needed to interpret and apply information across disciplines.
7. Master the mathematical skills necessary to interpret and apply information across disctiplines.
8. Develop critical thinking skills.
9. Develop effective organizational skills.
10. Develop skills in creative expression.
11. Develop the habits of a healthy lifestyle.
12. Explore opportunities for post-secondary endeavors with an adult member of the community.
