Countryside
School, Newton's largest elementary school, is home to a diverse cultural
community of teachers, students, and families who work together in the
spirit of our core values. These core values, respect, responsibility,
cooperation and learning, are the cornerstones of our school and what
makes it such a special place to learn, grow and work. With
480 students and a faculty and staff of more than 75, our school is unique
in its warmth and nurturing environment. It is a place where we learn
from each other and delight in knowing that we are part of a community
that values children and their education. We all have something to teach
and lots to learn!
| OUR CORE VALUES |
Respect: Respecting
each other is essential to being a member of a diverse community
of learners. An appreciation for each person’s uniqueness,
an acceptance of a wide range of learning styles, and a celebration
of our human differences and similarities make Countryside a wonderful
place to learn and grow. |
| |
Cooperation: The
spirit of cooperation is essential for meaningful learning to take
place. At Countryside, we know that in order to be a community of
learners, we need to do all we can to help and support each other. |
| |
Responsibility: Our
sense of responsibility for each other and to the success of our
educational mission keeps us in a caring and supportive community.
We are strong in our commitment to provide a learning environment
that enables each child to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. |
| |
Learning: Learning
is a process of discovery rooted in a curiosity about the world and
nurtured in an environment that celebrates and honors each child’s
individual achievements, large and small. |
