Welcome to the Newton Public Schools Career and Technical Education department. We offer a wide range of programs designed to appeal to students who want to enter today’s demanding job market with the skills and knowledge they need to be a success. We think of learning as a road, one with many turns and side trips, but one that always returns to the main route with one destination in mind: to meet goals and be successful. We know that students have different abilities, learning styles, interests, and motivations. We believe that our programs are flexible and challenging enough to appeal to everyone. We aim to prepare and encourage all students: -whether they plan to pursue post-secondary education at two-or four-year colleges; -whether they plan to enter business or industry as a skilled and credentialed employees; or -whether they plan a combination of higher education and employment. We also encourage students to expand their education with real-world experience through internships, cooperative work-study programs, or other community service learning opportunities.
