The main focus of this subcommittee will be to assess how technology is being used in the schools and what practices we would like to continue in the future. The subcommittee has proposed a "tech audit" of our schools. The Department of Information Technology sent out a request for quotes to three firms and has hired Sun Associates (www.sun-associates.com).
Sun Associates will work with the subcommittee to develop online surveys and follow-up focus groups to find out from a varierty of stake holders (coordinators, administrators, teachers, students and parents) what they consider to be the best practices of technology integration in the Newton Schools and compare these practices to state and national standards. This information will help us in the development of our next Three-Year Technology Plan (2007-2010).
