2006 SOPHOMORE SUMMER READING LIST

 

During the summer, students entering Curriculum II classes are required to read hole in my life, by Jack Gantos, one book from the list below, and one book of their choice

 

Students entering Curriculum I are required to read The Tortilla Curtain by T. Coraghessan Boyle, one book from the list below, and one book of their choice. 

 

Students entering Honors English should read Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut and  Life of Pi by Yann  Martel, and one book from the list below. 

 

At the beginning of the school year,   students will be asked to summarize, compare, discuss, or  respond to the books verbally and/or in written form.  Students should bring either the books or detailed notes to class   during the first weeks of school to enable them to respond to the books with specifics.
